I Homeschool Because…

There are many reasons to homeschool.  This is just one of them.

Here is a list of a few of the other Reasons Why We Homeschool.

  1. Today I was in “the village” I got to speak to all the students K-5 grade. The teachers, the principal, the staff, they all have shown acceptance and love towards our family to the point of allowing me to come and speak to all of them about World Down Syndrome Day. This village is eager for parents to be more involved, to be supportive, and to offer help. Today I saw something beautiful in that village and I was so thankful that I got to be a part of it.
My time being involved in the village has allowed me to see into the hearts of those working with my kids. They are beautiful, and we have much to learn from each other.

(I am a former homeschooling mom. My daughter asked to go to public school and I really struggled with that at first. So I do understand the fears and the desire of homeschooling. I would homeschool again in a heartbeat if my girls want to be homeschooled. However, this year I have seen beauty in unexpected places, such as “the village”)

  2. We do not homeschool because we found a small Christian school that is perfect for our family. But I loved this sign. I believe there is way too much emphasize on “the village” raising our children for us instead of parents stepping up to the plate and parenting their own children. It sure is nice when you have someone else to back you up, but it should all START in the home.

  3. I love this sign. While I agree that there are many great people and opportunities for education and ministry out there in God’s world, on the whole, I do not want most of the village educating my kids! Thank you for the smile.
