My friend Karen DeBeus is an all-star homeschooling momma in my book.
I’ve enjoyed reading her blog about living simply in all areas of life for Christ. I asked Karen to share more of her heart with us today. Here’s what she said about homeschooling, faith and simply living…for Him.
When God placed me on this path called homeschooling several years ago, I never expected it to lead me here. I am in awe of how He has worked in my family through homeschooling. It is simply amazing.
Sure there have been ups and downs, but it is about Him schooling me, just as much as me schooling my children. He has taught me so much.
He has taught me to live simply. To keep my focus on Him. To seek first His righteousness.
He has taught me that my children’s education is not just about fancy books and curriculum, but it is about teaching them to live real life.
He has taught me to lessen the clutter in my life and to focus on the eternal.
He has taught me what it means to be a mom, and to keep our perspective focused on why we do what we do.
And most of all he has taught me to live with an eternal perspective.
I yearn for simplicity so much in my life. Where others want more, I want less. I would rather be doing more tangible things than acquiring more material things.
I want my homechool to be a place where God’s love is what surpasses all, and He will direct our paths and bless us for our obedience to Him.
Simplifying is about getting rid of all distractions in our lives and in our homeschools, that take away from the Lord. Won’t you join me in Simply Living…for Him?
She’s one smart cookie.
Karen is also sharing more of her experiences, in seeking after the simple things, in her new eBook Simply Homeschool: Having Less Clutter and More Joy in Your Homeschool. She offers a lot directly for moms. My heart is always for help for moms. I soaked up her sections on getting rid of mental clutter–huge for me.
Here’s your chance to win a copy of her new eBook.

*I received a free copy of Simply Homeschool, and no other compensation for my honest review. In my honest opinion it’s a great eBook
