Our Review of the Creation Museum.

In the middle of our 15 day roadschooling trip we enjoyed the Creation Museum.  I still stand by my original review of the museum from 2010:

The museum is a living ministry explosion. If an individual has never heard the gospel they will certainly be held accountable before God for being told the truth of His Word. It was so much more than just dinosaurs. Although, the history of God’s creation only validates His pristine architecture for our lives. Isn’t it amazing we call Him Father and He calls us child? Every Christian needs to go, bring non-believers too! As the museums advertising states  “Prepare to believe!” Posted on my first review of the Creation Museum, and quoted by Ken Ham on his blog here.

Our 2nd trip to the Creation Museum 2011.

This visit to the Creation Museum only reinforced our learning.  We felt that we were among friends who value God’s Word.  We were encouraged in our faith and challenged to shine our light for Christ.

God’s Word or evolution?

You find truth like that in the above picture throughout the museum.  “God’s Word is the key to the past, present, and future.”  Many of the museums that I have taken our children to present evolution as fact, but not so at the Creation Museum.

"Aw, look at the baby!"

How refreshing to walk through a museum with my children where human life is cherished.  And do you see the TV screen {above Naomi and the baby} with Bible verses on it?  Screens like that are throughout the museum.  The Word of God is alive, active and intertwined within each aspect of the Creation Museum.

And more powerful yet, the Holy Name of God is lifted up again and again within the exhibits. I praise the Lord for the ministry of Ken Ham and the Creation Museum.  It’s wonderful to see the Name of Jesus lifted up.  His Name is Holy.  However, His Name is not allowed in many arenas. Public offices, schools, libraries, courtrooms…they don’t want Him.  Lord have mercy.  I am not ashamed.

Gabriel loved the dinosaurs.

Everyone loves learning about how God made the dinosaurs.

Evolution and the Bible.

The visual images throughout the facility do a fantastic job of presenting the ridiculous lies of evolution while highlighting God’s Word.

Isaiah, Moses and David

Quality exhibits focus on teaching Bible history.

Amazing craftsmanship goes into each display.

Gabriel, Jadin & Zion in the main hall of the Creation Museum.

Naomi, working on an ark puzzle.

Every room is filled with interactive learning stations for both children and adults.

Our fun art/creation workshop with Buddy Davis.

During our visit we also attended a special creation based art workshop with Buddy Davis.  We are big Buddy Davis fans! My heart was greatly moved that within Buddy’s workshop he ended his teaching in the Salvation message.  Just as all aspects of the Creation Museum–all roads lead back to Jesus.

Additional Resources:

Below you’ll find a sampling of books to read before going to the Creation Museum. Our children are prepared to combat the lie of evolution because of the profound resources produced by Answers in Genesis.   Just like when we were on a nature hike in the mountains.  During our hike we discovered that the trail guide signs presented the mountain range history from the evolutionary stand point.  Our boys read the signs and combated the lies with the truth of Gods Word. Because in this world we’re going to meet resistance.

If you would like to hear Ken Ham in person, please consider attending the 2012 Teach Them Diligently Convention.  Use the discount code SPIRIT to receive an additional $5 off  the already low  rate. {Code valid for a limited time only.  Expires 11/16/11.}

I love how the skeleton, standing next to a monkey skeleton, is standing there reading a Bible :P

As for books, I am totally biased in recommending my brother’s book: http://www.amazon.com/Someones-Making-Monkey-Out-You/dp/0983209707/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320522882&sr=8-1

I want to go!!! I recently read a great book on Creation and want to be able to relay it all to the kids as solidly as that book did to me ~ having a visual aid like the museum would be a wonderful tool!
I Google mapped it: 13 1/2 hours away. Think we can do it? =)

    • Jamerrill says:

      We actually live 9 hours away from the museum. We go when we’re visiting family who *only* :) live 5 hours a way. You can do it Jenny! There’s several reasonable hotels nearby. We stayed at a very clean/kid friendly/indoor pool Holiday Inn Express located in Indiana {4 miles away.}

Love the pic of Naomi with no shoes! Totally looks like one of my girls.

    • Jamerrill says:

That’s how “Naomi rolls.” I didn’t even realize her shoes were off until AFTER I posted this picture on Facebook. My “wild and wonderful” girl…glad I’m not alone! ;)

  5. Oh, I’m so glad y’all got to go! We adore the Creation Museum- there is such a wonderful feeling there- we love visiting museums of all sorts, but there is something very special about being in this Godly atmosphere- #likehome

  6. Looks great! I want to take my boys to a creation museum but there aren’t any near us in FL.

    • Jamerrill says:

Latoya, I thought there was one on the gulf coast? I’m sure you’ll get your babies to one sometime in your homeschooling journey. :-) Thanks for reading.

I live less than 15 miles from the Creation Museum, yet I have yet to go. One of my dear friends WORKS for the Creation Museum, yet I have yet to go. My husband’s uncle is one of the actors during the Christmas shows at the Creation Museum, yet I have yet to go. Maybe this will get me there??

  8. Kathy Balman says:

Wow thanks for sharing. We won free tickets to visit the museum but won’t be able to get there until the spring or summer. I also have the Masterbooks guide. Also I was given the versatile blogger award and I am now passing it onto you here are the details on how to participate – http://www.kathysclutteredmind.com/2011/11/versatile-blogger-award.html

I LOVE your post! I have always wanted to go to the Creation Museum. I have visited the one in Glen Rose, Texas, several times, but it is very, very small. I have heard Ken at seminars and learned quite a bit.

I bet you were able to put some great things in your homeschool portfolio after your visit.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Joyfully,
    Jackie
