And then there was Liam…
I was near being distraught the week in-between Christmas and New Years. I KNEW this baby was coming soon, and still nothing. I was the happiest woman alive Wednesday when I started with several rounds of nausea/vomiting. This can be a sign of labor starting, as it was for me with my last pregnancy. I joyfully went into my mid-wife appointment that day expecting to be sent to the hospital, and still nothing.

The following night I started with contractions that were irregular and painful at times, and still nothing. The next day, New Years Eve, I had back pain in the morning and a few painful (and yet irregular) contractions. I was not impressed. My body was going to have to prove to me that THIS was it. That evening around 7 p.m. I started with contractions I could time. However, by the time the ball dropped I was falling asleep unable to time my contractions any longer. I was very discouraged.

I woke up at 4:48 a.m. to a strong downward push and (eeeew) the audible sound of my hips popping, and (Praise God) my water breaking! THAT was my ticket into the hospital to have little Liam.He was born a little over 4 hours later and this was my fifth epidural that has worked w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l!!!!! My mom came and stayed over 2 weeks and we had several friends shower us with meals, love and visits afterwards.

Congratulations! Welcome baby Liam! He's adorable, as are the rest of your children. I've had those kinds of false starts too…so frustrating! Hard to believe when you really do go into labor!
